From Angie’s List:

Angie’s List Member Comments:
I have been going to Dr. Todd McDougle’s office for regular adjustment care for several years. He cares deeply for his patients and has great passion for chiropractic care. He knows and believes that chiropractic care works. He only wishes he could educate more people on the great benefits of chiropractic care, just as he has done for me and my family and so this is why I’ve given this testimonial to Angie’s List!

From Angie’s List:

I initially went to Dr. Todd for excruciating pain in my lower back, which had crippled me over the prior weekend.  I had spent the past month redecorating a bedroom in my house, which included removing old doors and replacing them.  Hanging bi-fold doors on two closets. Removal and replacement of bedroom furniture, painting walls & ceiling; hanging blinds and curtains. I’m a woman, 5′ 3″ and should NOT have been doing all of that lifting all by myself.  Because I didn’t stop working when I started having pain, I crushed a disc.

Dr. Todd was very caring, gentle, and sympathetic to my pain.  I was in the most pain I’ve EVER experienced in my life.  I couldn’t find any relief on my own.  I have seen medical professionals in the past for back issues, but was never satisfied with the treatment, lack of education, information, and/or therapies.

Dr. Todd wouldn’t touch me without x-rays – understandably, but he did delay part of his initial assessment process until a future date when some of my pain had subsided.  He focused on relieving my pain and getting my body into proper alignment.

Unfortunately, the damage was already done to the crushed disc; however, he began to educate me on the things I should/shouldn’t and/or could/couldn’t do in order to protect my back from further injury.  Besides regular visits to his office, he “prescribed” several physical therapy exercises for me to do on a daily basis in order to strengthen my core and my back as well as a back brace which really made a huge difference and provided a lot of support.

Initially, I visited Dr. Todd three times per week.  Then as my pain subsided and body began to straighten, I was able to visit just once per week and eventually, once every two weeks.

More From Angie’s List Member Comments:

I have been seeing Dr. Todd McDougle for over three years now.  We do xrays periodically to check on the status of my spine and I am amazed at the difference in the xrays from three years ago to now.  My spine used to be straight where there should be curves and curves where it should have been straight.  Over time, he has been able to improve and/or correct those issues.  We continue to work together for the betterment of my over-all health.

Dr. Todd believes in a “holistic” approach – without drugs.  I have no doubt that had I sought medical attention again, I would likely have had at least one surgery which may have included adding concrete or some other form of material to my spine.  I am so incredibly happy with the treatment I continue to receive.

Today, I work out in the gym on a regular basis.  I still have a couple of restrictions because I will never be 100%, but I continue to gain strength and muscle; strengthen my core, which helps to protect my spine; and I’m losing weight.

Dr. Todd has a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College for Chiropractic, which is like going to Harvard for Law.
He has developed his own methods/techniques that are matched by no other chiropractor. I saw a chiropractor a few times several years previously and was really surprised at the difference between the two. Dr. Todd is passionate…passionate about chiropractics; his patients; scoliosis treatment, over-all health.  And he practices what he preaches.
In August of this year, Dr. Todd attended the Ultimate Strongman Competition in Belfast, Ireland as the Chiropractor for the event.

He also specializes in the non-surgical treatment of Scoliosis and is certified through Becker Labs.

Thank you so much for what you do!

  • Richard Looney: Ireland’s Strongest Man Competitor

    Hi Dr. Todd,

I’m just writing to inform you that since you worked your magic my right elbow has at times been in excruciating pain and the muscle tissue in the long head of my triceps has been really tender. Despite this I have full faith in what you did!

You did tell me that I could expect the elbow to tighten back up but you were mistaken . . .  as I encountered the pain on a daily basis (similar in fact to the pain experienced while you were doing it), I did notice that the arm was in fact becoming looser and it is with the utmost gratitude and appreciation that I can tell you my right arm is now within 1 or 2 degrees of complete lockout!

I’m unsure how to thank you but I will say that I will give you a very detailed referral and hope it is of some use to you. I can avoid surgery and stay focusing on qualifying for next years UKs. Really, I’m just so impressed by your work and the thought of having to get surgery was very daunting

Dr. Todd,  I’m very grateful, I’ll attach before and after photos and give a full testimonial which you can quote freely! It’s nothing short of a miracle and already I can see the difference in my pressing! I was stuck at 160kg overhead but I’m pretty sure I’ll improve on that over the coming months. many thanks and I will stay in touch – thanks again!!!

    Thank you very much!

    Regards,

    Richard      (August 31, 2012)

    Richard’s Testimonial

I cannot explain the work this man done to my arm in fifteen minutes on a rainy day in Belfast. Having being referred to several physios and doctors here in Ireland I was given two choices of either surgery or regular cortisone injections to try prevent my arm from becoming more restricted due to an injury I sustained while arm wrestling in the all-Ireland finals 12 months previous. The day I received treatment from Dr. Todd, my right arm was 15 to 20 degrees short of straight when fully locked out. Upon inspection I was reassured by Dr. Todd straight away that he could help me with his treatment. He started at the wrist and made some adjustments before beginning work on my elbow, which despite having a high pain tolerance was very painful . . . But, I knew what he was doing was helping, it was joint pain and not soft tissue pain like what is experienced with most physios. When he was done he simply said “right buddy, straighten your arm” and he will tell you himself the look of shock on my face when my arm straightened to within 2 or 3 degrees was priceless, all after one treatment in not ideal circumstances! If you are lucky enough to be within reach of this gifted man I encourage you to use his services. I myself will be competing in this year world amateur strongman in Columbus Ohio which is something I might not have been able to do without Dr. Todd’s help. And you can be sure I’ll use this opportunity to avail of his services again while I’m over there. I cannot recommend this man highly enough!
